QUIZ RECAP

Greetings and Salutations, fellow trivia lovers. Quizmaster Edward here, giving you the lowdown on all the fun we had this week at TGI Friday's.

You know that part of the show when the quizmaster tells you that you too can be a quizmaster? This came true for me this week, as I moved over from being a player to being a quizmaster. I admit I was a little nervous about this, my first ever quizmaster show, but I had a great time, thanks to the patience and support of some really great teams and players.

The first round, as always, was General Knowledge, and all eight teams playing this round were generally knowledgeable. I wouldn't have doubled down on this round myself, as there was one answer I would not have known if I did not have the answers in front of me, but no team did either. The guys and gal of Brochachos and Chas should have, as they were the only team who did get all six questions correct. The game was afoot.

Round 2, the Picture Round, was all about water vessels. Four teams were able to properly identify all eight items, but only one team, Girls Club, went Double or Nothing and took a commanding early lead.

Round 3, the Theme Round, was a hoot. Literally. Eight questions about laughter. Two teams were able to properly answer all six questions correctly, and both Girls Club and Team Skrt Skrt went all-in on the doubling. Girls Club would still be in the lead after this round.

Round 4, Guess Who, was an admitted toughie. No team attempted to answer at the ten-point level, and the one team that did attempt at eight points chose poorly. One team got the answer correct at the six-point clue, while most everyone else had it at the four-point clue. Girls Club maintained their lead.

Everything would change in Round 5, Find the Connection. This round was really sneaky. I don't know if I would have been able to find the connection, but the Brochachos and Chas did, and they wisely doubled down on this round. No other team doubled in this crucial round, nor got all ten questions correct, and we would have a new team at the top of the chart.

Round 6 asked players to match the solo artist with the band they were or still are a part of. Beach Please, who had played King Trivia at TGI Fridays previously but officially signed up as a team on KingTrivia.com tonight, were able to match up the ten artists to their bands and did their first Double or Nothing, which would bring them all the way up from fifth place to second place. Meanwhile, there was a close race for third place, as So Cal I was just one point behind Girls Club.

Round 7, Mix It Up, had one very challenging set of questions, and it was their being the only team to get this set of questions correct that would help So Cal I overtake Girls Club for third place, by a single point. Beach Please showed they had what it took to compete, coming in second place in their first-ever game with us. But, once again, Brochachos and Chas tasted the thrill of victory.

I would like to thank all the teams for coming out and being so patient and understanding with a first time quizmaster. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
