Two words: David Beckham. We'll remember this forever.

We were joined by Quizmaster-in-Training James, who guided us through "The Jewel in the Crown" as if he'd been hosting King Trivia for years. Though he didn't bring the double-down spirit with this Indian theme, as most everyone either was surprised by their field hockey skills, didn't know what a nehru jacket was, or completely forgot about the OTHER Jonas brother.

Coincidentally, most everyone could not recall several movies in our "I Can't Recall" round, and "bed" connections were lousy as well. Though, it's certainly not as embarrassing as your Quizmaster not being able to pronounce "Hercule Poirot" smoothly to save her life. However, our teams excelled toward the end of the game.

After much sweating and panicking, Team R&A was able to double down on studio albums, bumping them right into a tie with Knobheads! Unfortunately, Knobheads knew their championship-less NBA teams just slightly better, securing another first place win, but I still didn't hear any complaints from R&A. Tits & Ass also did exceptionally well, only needing to join in a round early to boost their points up just a smidge more. And... ya know... David Beckham.

Thanks for keeping it fun, fair, and fierce, guys. See you (most likely back in drabby clothes again) next week!

St. Patrick's Day may have come and gone, but that doesn't mean the drinking should stop! Everyone got to go home with a little something just for playing tonight, so kudos to all of you.

Traveler's Diarrhea and Knobheads were neck-in-neck throughout a good chunk of the game, to where we weren't entire sure who would be the 1st place winner. The only surefire way Knobheads would be able to defeat Traveler's Diarrhea is if they doubled down on Round 7 and turned in their pen for a bonus point -- which they managed to do! This, of course, was to the disappointment of Traveler's Diarrhea, who thought they had it in the bag for also doubling down and turning in their pen, but hopefully taking home the 2nd place price of $20 in Boonbucks softens the blow.

Sweet Cheeks avenged himself from his last King Trivia defeat (like, a thousand years ago), and got some help from Chelsea at the bar! (And we learned Chelsea doesn't know squat about The Merchant of Venice but everything about gingerbread men.) Sweet Cheeks and new-ish players Team Stark both attempted to double down in Round 7, but forgot that Hawaii exists and said Utah was one of the correct states! D'oh! Two failed double downs meant Sweet Cheeks was finally able to go home with some Boonbucks by the skin of his teeth.

Not all hope was lost for Team Stark, though. After an equally exciting and humiliating St. Patrick's Day (where Quizmaster Charlotte was face to face with Flogging Molly's super cute and energetic electric guitarist, only for him to look at the just-as-attractive girl to her right and compliment her on how gorgeous SHE was), everyone had to draw what they thought the guitarist looked like to win free alcohol. Team Stark had the best working crystal ball, being the only team to correctly guess the guitarist had no hair. Slainte!

No better place to be the week before St. Paddy's than at Boondocks! Was great to make some new friends and see some old friends over some crisp cold beer, even if I didn't have any. (The Knobheads will tell you I'm probably pregnant -- it's all fake news!)

Traveler's Diarrhea showed up after a hiatus that lasted several months, and though it was only a solo player tonight, it was still great to see him come in and do pretty well for being on his own.

S&E did really well, they just lacked the confidence (or just plain forgot) to double down on their general knowledge and TV character professions; a common theme among King Trivia virgins. It would have secured the third place spot, but that means I didn't hear complaints out of Hop On My Whatever. We hope S&E come back and give everyone a real run for their money next week!

The whole Hop On My Jetski tribe showed up to play, and not a single damn person knew who Samantha Bee was. They also knew the Round 5 connection was Mortal Kombat characters, but made their answer very generic anyway? Even when I told them they had to be specific? Pfft, they just felt so good about themselves they didn't even need to try all that hard. They went home with $10 and one of the Jetskis got a free drink for winning a riveting, complex game of High/Low, so the night was far from being a dud.

The best part of the night was watching Anne Frank's Hide & Seek Club come into Knobhead's house and disrespect the hell out of them (by getting more points, obviously, 'cause everyone was actually a total delight!). Anne Frank doubled down on general knowledge, Knobheads doubled down on Olympic gold medalists, then ended up holding a strong tie up until Anne Frank finally got to double down on their TV character occupations, securing their lead until the end of the game. With one gentleman from each team also getting a free drink from the super difficult High/Low game, it was hard for any egos to be bruised.

Wishing the Boondocks crew, its King Trivia players, and all it's regular bar patrons a safe and fun Saint Patrick's Day! Remember that truly being Irish has nothing to do with how much you can drink -- it's all about having a sunny attitude on a cloudy day, and always treating a stranger like he's your best mate. And okay, maybe some drinking. Slainte!
