Institution Ales' theme revolves around the legend of former mental facility Camarillo State Hospital (now CSU Channel Islands). Ken Kesey stayed there while researching for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Charlie Parker wrote a song called Boppin' at Camarillo, about his time there, incarcerated for heroin use.

Why am I telling you all this?  Because the IAC was a madhouse on this last Tuesday of June. Over 20 teams started, and 15 finished. Surpassing all, team Ein Steins won first prize, and the $50 gift card, with 67 points. HaiL DongziLLa came in 2nd with 55, and in 3rd place was the team called And in First Place…

Tonight's winners, Denim Dandies, won by one point. That's how close the competition gets at IAC. The Goonies came in second with 58 points, and the Marcus Smarts won a tiebreaker to take third place with 56. Season 8 rolls along, and many of the teams at Institution Ales are vowing to be among the top 100 to qualify for the Tournament of Champions.

Tonight, 3 points separated the top 3 teams, with Killer Millers earning the King's crown and a $50 gift card. BLondes + 2 finished second, and Quizzin' On Your Face took third place.
