With the King Trivia Tournament of Champions just eight days away, Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink kept their minds sharp and their wits honed by leading all scoring this week at The Famous in Glendale. Good luck at the tournament, fellas!
Their 89-point performance was enough to give the Jeopardy crew the win, but Bad Boys Breakfast Club didn't make it easy for 'em. BBBC's strong 87-point performance was just two points shy of the top spot, and made for a tense, exciting finish to the night's quiz.
The Carl Hornbauers had a good night, as well, winning the Drinking Round and finishing in the #3 spot in our winner's troika. Nicely done, Carls! You have every right to toot your own horn-bauers.

Yes, the holiday hiatus is over. Far flung friends have returned from their family festivities and turned their attention back to what is truly important: King Trivia at The Famous in Glendale!
It was great to see so many familiar faces last night, flush with excitement and ready to take on a new year's worth of quizzing challenges. It was also great to help Devan (center, photo #8) celebrate her 84th birthday! Happy birthday, Devan! (Man, she looks great for her age!)
Mostly Not Barristers Tonight (team captain: DEVAN!) led all scoring with a truly impressive 95 points, followed by frequent top performer The Blanches, in second with 79, and Yer a Quizard Harry rounded out our winner's circle with 71.

On New Year's Eve, I was abducted by a group of mimes!
(They did unspeakable things to me!)
We brought in the new year in fine style at The Famous in Glendale this week, and the dark-haired woman entered the bar with her own sense of style, as she walked - no, let's make that glided - no, let's say she sauntered...
Yeah, that's it. She sauntered into The Famous as if she was, or should be. Raven hair, and ruby lips. All eyes fell upon her as she slowly made her way toward me. No one would have been surprised if sparks had flown from the fingertips of this bewitching woman.
She moved toward me. "You're the quizmaster?" she asked.
I nodded.
"Can I call you "Master?"
"If you like," I replied. "And what can I call you?"
"Zamora," she said. "As in, 'would you like Zamor-ah?' "
Then she smiled a deep, knowing smile. Winked and said, "I'll see you again soon, Master" and sauntered away.
