About Bar Charlie

Bar Charlie landed in the North Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle in December 2016. Bar Charlie aims to be a comfortable neighborhood bar featuring beers, food and spirits crafted in the greater Pacific Northwest.

Bar Charlie's interior concept is inspired by the history of the De Havilland Beaver Seaplane and is a mix of actual seaplane parts, wood, concrete and metal.  The walls have photography and art detailing the history of Seaplanes on Lake Union.

Bar Charlie was created by Christian Thomason with mentoring and construction assistance from Chris Navarra.

Bar Charlie evolved out of the desire to do something more than tackle an endless mountain of bureaucratic paperwork.  It’s intended to be a neighborhood gathering spot, a place to unwind with good drinks and food.

QUIZ RECAP

The questions were falling like hard rain in Seattle last night and the actual rain was falling like regular rain. More of light drizzle, really.

We began the night with five teams and a four-way tie. And ended the night with three teams and a no-way tie! Also, in attendance was a dog named Whiskey. Charlie, the dog for whom the bar is named was not there that night, sadly, but his portrait was! (I snagged pictures of both! As well as some arty shots of the airplane parts on the walls...)

NPO Violators and Sentinel Island Tribesman both had to leave after Round 5, but ended their evening with 15 and 17 points, respectively. It was a noble showing for both teams and we wish them Godspeed and rapid success in all future endeavors. (also, come back next Tuesday!)

Flying Wombats hit a couple of hurdles early with a missed Double or Nothing and a wrong answer on for the Guess Where Round, but regained footing with a very solid showing in Rounds 5, 6, and 7. The Smooth Hands Crew and Karen kept it pretty tight with Patagucci Track Suits throughout most of the evening, but started pulling ahead in Round 4 with a correct answer on the 10 point clue. From there they sailed on to First Place with a commanding 60 points!

Flying Wombats took Second Place with 45 points and Patacucci Track Suits landed Third Place with 44 point. One point! Just goes to show it's worth your time to register your team. *end lecture* Luckily, there's still plenty of time before next Tuesday!
