About Hyperion Public - Silver Lake

We are your local neighborhood restaurant and bar where everyone is welcome hence the word "Public" in our name. Our restaurant has a rough luxe decor serving quality food and cocktails, a mix of craft and traditional beers, along with a good selection of wines, in a communal atmosphere. Hidden in the back of the restaurant is our upstairs bar and lounge also serving food and cocktails, that has a jukebox, dartboard, piano, mic, and TVs for sports (Sunday NFL Ticket).

My oh my, what a night for trivia at Hyperion Public. Fourteen teams showed up to show the goods on Monday, but you know the drill. Longtime favorites and villains Little Lebowski's Urban Achievers have once again reclaimed first place, as it had been some time since they could rub it in everyone's faces. Last week's winners, Blowie and the Hootfish, took second place, moving down just a notch.

For the drinking round, I asked all the teams to write a simple haiku about whatever they wished, and then I would pick my favorite. I immediately threw all the low-effort "I hate creative drinking round" trash to the side because we're adults - not teenagers - and we can have some fun instead of pretending to not like things to look cool. Here are the top three haikus:

In third place, from Little Lebowski's Urban Achievers:

There's no collusion.

The Democrats colluded.

You're the colluder.

In second place, DALE:

Drop it like it's hot.

When the pimps in the crib ma,

Drop it like it's hot.

And finally in first place, Blowie & The Hootfish: (this one needs context. There was a seven year old girl playing on a team, and I told everyone they couldn't swear until after she left. She left after round 2)

The crowd went absolutely insane upon hearing B&THF's wonderful haiku, and the took home the much deserved drinking round. Hats off to all the teams for a great night!
