About The Famous Bar

The Famous craft cocktail lounge is located in Glendale's historic Huntley-Evans building, directly across the street from the Americana at Brand. It follows an eclectic and rich pedigree of establishments that have called this building home in the last century, most notably the early Glendale landmark, The Famous Department Store. The Famous, true to its heritage, embraces the classic art of fine craft cocktail creation, invented in the United States in 1856, using bitters, juices, syrups, and infusions, prepared in-house using fresh ingredients from local markets and growers. Cocktails served at The Famous are identical to those served nearly 100 years ago when the building was constructed.

Those happy men enjoying a little adult refreshment in photo number one are two-thirds of Bad News Barristers, winners of this week's trivia quiz at The Famous on Brand in Glendale. Photo #2 reveals their third cohort, who was unavailable for photo one because she was busy throwing wet paper towels at the members of Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink. It's a bit of a rivalry, to be sure, and can get a little...intense!

What's that you say? That woman looks too sweet and innocent to ever engage in behavior such as name calling and wet-paper-towel throwing!? Oh! You have noooooo idea what she's capable of! Look at the fear in the faces of the Jeopardy guys in photo #3! They are clearly terrified!

Rightly so. Mike and Ritchie - the other two guys on her team - are so afraid of her when they lose that they drink to calm their anxiety! (Look at photo #1 again. You see it now, right!? Devan is a tyrant! Especially when she loses, which hasn't happened much in the past few weeks.

Won't someone rise to the occasion and take her down a notch!?

On a separate note, we heartily welcome the lovely ladies calling themselves The Dorothys, (phot0 #6) who were experiencing King Trivia for the first time after playing at venues featuring other versions of pub trivia. "We heard about King Trivia and wanted to give it a try," a Dorothy said with enthusiasm. "This is great - the best trivia game we've ever played!"

Well, that's high praise, ladies. We're too modest to agree, but too honest to disagree. But we certainly liked you, too, and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Next Thursday, perhaps. Hope so...
