In a city known more for its glitz than its grit, Angel City Brewery is proud to rough things up a bit and work beneath the shiny surface. Our home in the Los Angeles Arts District is both brewery and canvas, the center of a revival for the city's artists, musicians, hustlers, and craftspeople. It's an LA that's as ambitious as it is diverse & and our beer is no exception.
Eight of our teams had between 33 and 35 points tonight! How fashionable! And comfortably sitting two standard deviations above them was Oedipus and the Motherfuckers, with a well-earned win. Team Diaper City claimed second place, made all the more impressive by their failed double-down in Round 6. And Happy Birthday to Arica! Tonight was a night of teachers! Even without team FTK in the house, a few teams of teachers dominated the questions tonight. And the lesson we all learned is a lesson we've learned before... never underestimate the power of the double-or-nothings! The Soggy Bottoms failed their double in round 5, but succeeded in both 6 and 7, leaving them in the tiebreaker round for first place! Teachers and Friends meanwhile demonstrated a slow and steady ascension, capped off with a final round doubling. And everyone in the room seriously underestimated how long it would take to solve a 17x17x17 Rubik's cube in the rare and exciting four-team final score tiebreaker. 450 minutes! That's enough time for a whole month of trivia.
