The Pub at Golden Road is a full-service, family-friendly environment located just a stone’s throw from Griffith Park in Atwater Village. Open 7 days a week, The Pub offers ample indoor and outdoor seating, over a dozen Golden Road beers on tap, and games for the young (and young at heart).
We made a lot of new friends this week at Golden Road Brewery in Glendale, with many new faces in the official trivia quiz arena (aka the sideyard) checking out King Trivia for the first time.
Trashley Wards won the night with a nifty score of 80, with Pretty But Dumb demonstrating that their team name was half wrong by coming in second. (Seems pretty smart to me) and The Bad Explainers joining the top three - as usual.
It has been a great year for King Trivia at Golden Road, and we’re looking forward to seeing you all when 2018 comes rushing in next week.

Oh man! What a painful end for the extraordinary ladies (and one fella) of Harriett & The Spies! It all came down, as it so often does, to the strategic use (or not) of the powerful Double-or-Nothing option.
In this case, not.! They were winning! They were leading! They were leaving everyone else in their dust!! But then came Round 7, and though their answers were all correct - and after much debate - they decided NOT to go for the double, opening the door for The Bad Explainers and Sister Act With the Kranks to sweep right by and take the top two spots.
To make matters worse, their trepidation and hesitation vis-à-vis the failed double put them in a three-way tie with the Sensual Santas (aka #squadgoals) and Karen is Old A.F. for a battle for third, which was eventually won by Karen (who was celebrating her birthday - she’s old AF!) so it's probably fitting that they won.
But Harriet! My poor, dear Harriet!!
Oh well. Go bold or go home empty, right!?

Well, there's a pretty big party coming up real soon. As we get closer and closer to the big King Trivia Tournament of Champions (coming up next month - tickets now on sale), we congratulate the formidable fellows of The Bad Explainer, who were honing their competitive skills this week at Golden Road Brewery in anticipation of the tough competition they will soon face.
I asked about their strategy for the TOC, and they tried to describe it, but their description was frankly baffling. Which shouldn't have come as a surprise. They're not good at explaining, after all.
