Drama!--drama was afoot at Ma'Kai this week! Fun drama. Oh, man. . . these teams were so well matched right from the get-go! Drink and food specials already had everyone in good spirits (with some choice spirits ;D) and players were pumped and ready for trivia right out of the gate. Everything started modestly and then--BAM!--two Double or Nothings successfully used! Then it was a trade-off between teams as each one would flex its muscle in categories they felt strongest in--Double or Nothing on this side, Double or Nothing on that side. . . ! I was sweating bullets wondering who would win. Then it happened--a tie between the teams! Steeler/Bronco ultimately took the win with the tie-breaking question, just edging out the "wicked smart" Mr. Kool-Aid Man, Tear Down This Wall! Whoa. . . All I can say is that I hope you'll be joining us again next week at Ma'Kai for more nail-biting excitement!

Talk about excitement!--with great food and drink specials going at Ma'Kai, we kicked off our first trivia night after recovering from the time change over the weekend. A round of shots helped some teams sharpen their wits as round one got underway and yelps of delight and uncertainty bounced around the room with the questions being given. The drama and stakes turned out to be too much for one team by the end of the round and they surrendered their King Trivia pen, heads hung low. However, it was just the fuel needed for another team of one(!) who decided to join the game in round two! Suffering the handicap of having missed the first round, she quickly climbed in points, eventually coming neck and neck in the competition with a skillful use of Double or Nothing! Then it was anyone's game right up until the end when Ma'Kai Peeps' wits brought them the victory, just beating the darkhorse challenger, I'm The Best. A real nail biter!--I'm just hoping they grow back in time for next week's thrills. Can't wait for another evening of excitement and laughs at Ma'Kai next Tuesday!--come join us!

It was a dark and stormy night. Fat Tuesday was upon us and everyone at Ma'Kai was down for the King Trivia challenge. Laughs, boasting and cheers abounded as we pounded through the questions. Generous happy-hour specials kept spirits high--as did the Fat Tuesday special on Hurricanes (no relation to the stormy night)! As we closed in on the final rounds, lightning and thunder flashed and boomed!--but raging skies over the Pacific couldn't hold a candle to the flashes of sharp wits and jubilant merriment the teams dueled each other with. Leads were won and lost, it was touch and go for some teams at certain points and in the end, it was neck and neck until Lordz & Kweenz emerged from the happy fray victorious! Congratulations!--and we're looking forward to seeing everyone (and more!) back at Ma'Kai next week, rain or shine, for another installment of heated fun!
