It felt like a homecoming of sports when I hosted trivia at Thunderbird! I first fell in love with King Trivia at Thunderbird as a player and its where I first learned about becoming a Quizmaster. I even ran into a friend from college! When KT asked me to host, I couldn't pass up the opportunity!

We had an awesome turnout at Thunderbird - fourteen teams and 53 players! What made for the great atmosphere at trivia? Was it Sunday Night Football? Was it the $8 margaritas and mules special? The skee-ball and photobooth or amazing bar staff? Probably all of the above!

People say sports bring people together - as evidenced by our team Ram It, Dawg Pound (see two football rivals coming togehter to place third!) - but I say it's trivia that brings people together. We had some first timers who thrived at the game, as well as some veteran players.

Our 14 teams thrived through 7 rounds of play. The question set covered all areas of knowledge. Some of my personal favorite questions had to do with matching feline mascots to their organizations and recognizing the origin of the chocolate chip cookie!

Thanks for letting me sub at Thunderbird everyone. Hope to see you all again!

Sunday Night Football has nothing on Sunday Night Trivia at Thunderbird. 13 teams came out to play King Trivia to see who would score the most mental touchdowns to become the evening's first place winner.

"Tapioca Pudding," Grounders," "Voldemort" all played great games answering many questions correctly. I also loved the determination and positive attitudes of "Spoon and the Hot Girl Factory." I really enjoyed calling out "You're Doing Great, Sweetie" when I mentioned their scores. For some reason, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Like I was really doing great. 😉 "Litera Tea" not only played a strong game but were tons of fun. A returning favorite, "Tapioca Pudding" kicked some major mental ass. And so did another retuning favorite, "Dan Mitchell's Sunday Scaries" who almost placed third but lost the tie breaking question to...

our THIRD place winners, "Tender Glow," who played a stellar game. SECOND place went to another returning favorite, "Show Me Your Kitties," who scored really well despite "not knowing anything about Jamie Foxx," the theme of our final round. And coming in FIRST place is a team who knew the right time to double or nothing and has a name I throughly enjoyed saying, "A Hotdog is Not a Sandwich." See yous next week!

10 teams competed to see which one would own King Trivia and end up being the most smartest. "Sloppy Salamanders" and "Club 1288 + Chris" had some creative answers and played with a lot of heart. "General Cornwallace" scored some impressive points at their first King Trivia match. "Sharpie-1 Trump-0" had me at their title. "Bangarang!" answered many of the questions and had fun with the Classic Rock playlist. But in the end, "Show Me Your Kitties," a Thunderbird favorite, grabbed THIRD place." "Harriet Tubman the Spy," another King Trivia favorite and the only ones who got the memo we started at 8, came in SECOND. "Dan Mitchell Comes at 7" not only got FIRST place...again, they also got their wish and King Trivia will resume its regular time next week at 7!
