About Big Time Brewery & Alehouse

Big Time Brewery opened its doors in December 8th, 1988 and we have been brewing and serving craft beer ever since. We are Seattle's original brew pub. A classic American Alehouse located in an brick building with high ceilings and lots of stained wood. The pub has an antique bar.

Big Time usually has at least 12 beers on tap, plus a featured cask-conditioned "real ale" on the hand pump. Our standard brews are: Scarlet Fire IPA, Atlas Amber Ale and Coal Creek Porter which are on tap at all times. The other three taps and the cask conditioned pump rotate from week to week with some of the many specialty beers we produce over the year.

The brewery is a 14 barrel JV Northwest system consisting of a gas fired brew kettle, an infusion mash tun with mixer, a hot liquor back, a wort cooler, (5) 14 barrel fermenters, a bright beer tank, and (20) 7 bbl serving tanks.

The kitchen features pizza, sandwiches, burgers, salads and tasty snacks. We serve generous portions at very reasonable prices. Food is available until 11:00pm.

Another wonderful Wednesday at Big Time Brewing.

It was a hotly contested contest with several of our teams doubling down successfully throughout the night. Kevin Bacon Bits had a lead throughout the contest thanks to a couple of successful double downs, but Cornstache stayed right on their heels all night long. After round 7 we had a tie at a stout 70 points.

After a much needed drum roll from our trivia contestants Cornstache was able to eek out a win after our tie-breaking round. Cornstache was even gracious enough to include me in their team picture after the game. Warms my cold cold Quizmaster heart.

Just as a side note I personally particularly enjoyed that one of the answers in our Find the Connection round was 'trivia', and the connection of the night was 'king'. King Trivia! My excitement over it was probably a bit much getting some cackles from my trivia participants. What can I say, I'm a company man at heart.

Another exciting trivia over at Big Time Brewery! It was the night of double-or-nothings, with 100% of teams successfully doubling down on our handout round and Murshburger identifying all 9 correct answers + their connection in the "Find the Connection" round. The real excitement came, though, when our top two teams were forced into a tie-breaker round. In the end Oedipus and the Mofos came out on top, most closely guessing the number of words in Joseph Hellers classic novel, Catch-22.

A great trivia night over at Big Time Brewery! The Late Bloomers made a strong start after missing round #1 with a successful double or nothing in round #2. Feel My Polywrath and Snakes in a Moat were the leaders of this game, though, and after a close seventh round Polywrath eked out the win.
