Another delightful night of music, mischief and trivia at The Brewyard Beer Company in Burbank. Amy, Matt and David (aka Adam Schiff's Creek - photos one and two) had a fine night, as did Clown Babies Doug and Mike, and the inspired duo of Trebek's Rejects.
Look how smug Amy looks (photo #2) when she's winning! That's the same look you'll see on a winning political candidate when the votes are finally tallied!
But the truth is, everyone has a terrific time at our weekly trivia soiree at the Brewyard. The half in/half out indoor/outdoor patio seating options allow the cool autumn evening air to invigorate and inspire. Not to mention the excellent beer, good for inspiration of a different sort.
The players are friendly and exhuberant, the staff accomodating and attentive, and there's a group of inviting seats available for you and your team. We invite you to join us soon, to but your trivia acumen to the test against the fierce competitors pictured here. But bring your "A" game. They certainly will.
See ya next week.
Necessity is the mother of invention, the old proverb says...
...and King Trivia is also the king of innovation, as has been demonstrated many times throughout the years. And if ever-oh-ever there was a need to innovate, the last 18 months have been downright inspiring to the genius-level quiz kids at KT headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland!
(Okay, yeah, the KT headquarters is actually located in an underground bunker in the San Fernando Valley. But isn't it sexier and more exciting to imagine 'em toiling away in Zurich!? You betcha!!)
The necessity of social distancing in the age of communicability inspired the creation of the King Trivia Players App, which allows us to gather once again to engage in trivia battle while doing away with those pesky pencils and answer books. The app is, in a word, awesome, easy to use, and very, very effective. It sure didn't take long for our regular players to embrace this elegant piece of computer programming. They love it! We love it! And a whole heaping helping of kudos goes to the crew at HQ (in Zurich! No, really!!) for their fine work creating it.
But last night, just for a moment, we were reminded of how things used to be. A brief glitch cause the app server to hiccup, and we were left with no way to communicate other than -- gulp -- the old fashioned way!! Egad.
But just as we were unpacking the answer pads and pencils, the app was restored and all was right with the world. But in that brief interim, your faithful QT was subjected to all manner of smart assersy!! So no, I am not the reincanation of Fred Flinstone. And no, I do not watch I Love Lucy on a black-and-white TV with rabbit ears and no, I do not keep score with an abacus!! (I do, however, actually know how to make a fire by rubbing two sticks together!)
And yes, you're all very, very funny. I love you all. See ya next week.
