What a wonderful night for trivia! Even though the crowd was smaller than usual, it was mighty. The top three teams surpassed the 70 point mark -- always an impressive feat. 

At the start of the game, I was  convinced my email with the answers got leaked because almost all teams doubled successfully in the first round and half in the second. But it just turned out we had some smart cookies in the crowd. It wasn't until hero vs villian (Round  3) separated the pack into two groups. From then on, it was a game of leap from among the top three teams. 

But once again, our "groundhog friends" -- as I like to call them -- secured the lead by Round 5 and were golden (see what I did there) through to the end. In the spirit of Halloween, I looked into my crystal ball and am feeling a The Keg (like the 2018 movive The Meg) win in trivia future. Hey Mommy! once again had a great showing. Unfortunately the Ricky Bobby fatigue is starting to set in. They are due for a win!

I've decided to start awarding a "Hype (Wo)man" of the week. This may be the most important award because trivia is just better with the hype. This week goes to Blue Barracudas!!!

I have also decided to do a beer find of the week. Hop Merchant has such an amazing beer selection that I want to showcase my favorite of the week. This week was the Faction Vandelay Wit -- equipped with an image of George Costanza. As a Seinfeld fan, I LOVED the genius call back to our beloved George's "place of employment". I wonder if they are hiring?!?

QUIZ RECAP

What a great night for trivia! Tonight was PACKED. That meant hightened competition, excitement, and enthusiasm. Quizzers brought their A-game and it showed. There were a lot of new (soon to be familiar) faces along with our seasoned regulars. There was even a NoHo Trivia MeetUp who came in as strangers and left as a team (no literally their team name was Team). 

This was the week of Pank Panther! After weeks of just missing the top three, they hit their stride, found their groove, and came out of the night with a strong victory. Maybe it was because some of their team were jazzed on the Red Sox advancing to the second round, but who knows. 

Hey Mommy! is king/queen of coming from behind. While the first few rounds were a little rough, they came back with a vengence and took second place. Maybe next week they should come in third so they can come from behind the following week and rise to the top in league play. 

We Had a Bad Feeling About This had some extra help this week from their friend over the hill. While they didn't quite place, they had a very strong showing and really knew their Apollo 13. 

While they secured the glorious last place, Dodger? I Just Met Her won best team name for the night.
