Hot off their debut album, could anyone compete with the absolute fire unleashed by Tequila Mockingbirds? They missed out on the double in round 1 but made up for it with two in rounds 2 and 3, out pacing Alternative Facts after overtaking them and maintaining enough of a lead before a round 5 double launched them into a commanding lead with a goose egg sealing Alt. Facts in second place, just ahead of Triv-Vinos.

A more conservative play emerged after last weeks highs and lows with most teams staying away from doubles until round 3. With a lot of points up for grabs, many were tempted by the doubles, but tripped up on some trick questions and only a few landing the high-value doubles in the second half, rocketing the top three out of reach of the rest of the field.

Hot out the gate, teams answered correctly either 5 or 6 questions, but a profusion of double-downs made for some 12s and 0s on the scoreboard. Round 2 had teams even more confident, as 11 out of 15 teams doubled successfully, however round 3 proved to bring us all down a peg or two. Most teams had round 4 by the second clue, making scores rise, but rise together. The field began to spread in round 5 and 6, making every point count in round 7. With every pen returned, There's Always Next Week faced off against the Casual American Cannibals in a Tie for 3rd, leaving Next Week to take the price, er, this week.
