Disparate beginnings this Tuesday, as two teams successfully doubled, yet the rest came in rather low on the point scale. None to worry, the first round is more of a warm up, anyway!

Round 2 was a little more forgiving as teams pigged out with their favourite characters. The third round might as well have been a wash, with not one, not two, not even three, but six teams successfully doubling-down!

The next round had a rather average feel about it, with a nice bell curve forming in anticipation of round 5's connection search. Few teams were able to make the leap, and only "There's Always Next week" were able to secure the double, shooting them into contention.

Round 6- and perhaps some divine intervention- boosted everyone's confidence just enough to raise hopes for round 7 which dashed them harshly to the ground with an unexpected spike in difficulty. This week's Champions, continuing their trend, hailed their competition from the top of the podium.

• Teams launched with a fury not seen this 2019, with moderately nigh scores all around in round 1, but a few doubles From Tequila Mockingbirds, Birthday Party Satan, and There's Always Next week sent them soaring ahead - and proved prophetic, as these three teams would take the prizes at the end of the night.

Hieroglyphic allusions sent the teams on the right track for rappers, but they had to make it the rest of the way, and Nelly stumped most. In round three it was all about silence and the quizmaster was astounded by teams' knowledge of Kenny Rogers' discography. Round 4 kept teams young, but most could have used a little fairy dust to help fly to the answer a bit earlier. Round 5 had heads scratching, but a few teams were able to divine the connection. Round 6 was an interesting upset with almost every team missing the same answers, with a mode of 7 for the round. Speaking of sevens and rounds, teams were able to Lego of their reservations and throw every nerdy reference they could think of down, but each team missed at least three franchises, leaving no perfect scores for round 7.

Regardless of the final performance, the competition was stiff and the winners scored pretty high, keeping a commanding presence at the top of the board.

Mostly high answer rates kicked off the night, but the spread was wide with quite a few debut doubles which repeated in round 2!

Confidence was beat down by round 3 with zero double attempts and a lower score average and teams softly floated guesses in round 4, mostly waiting til clue 3.

Things picked up after the drinking round and groups hungry for victory pushed forward, doubling or zeroing out in an attempt to pull ahead.

A slew for high-value doubles in round 6 shook up the ladder, but the only attempts in round 7 failed, leaving the stalwart few at the top.
