QUIZ RECAP

I have never seen teams shift places quite as much as this week at Brouwerij West. Throughout the night teams regularly leaped from first place to last place and then back to first, making for an especially exciting game. In third place this week we had Counter Intelligence, in second place was the Mild Stallions, and in first place we had Maybe This Time.

Just to highlight how much shifting happened this week The Mild Stallions started the game in second place then did a double or nothing in round two, but missed one question and fell to last place. Then they managed to double or nothing in round six and snag second place. Similarly, Maybe This Time was behind until round five when they did a double or nothing and started to come back, and then in round six they did another double or nothing which secured them first place. I should also make a shoutout to the Brewsual Suspects, who were in first place for most of the game, but then fell to third place and lost a tie breaker to Counter Intelligence and ended the game in fourth place.

The lesson from this week is that anything can happen in a game. Starting out in last place is no indication of how the game will end. Any team could be victorious and walk away with a prize. The real question is whether you are bold enough to keep playing. It could be anybody's game next week at Brouwerij West!

QUIZ RECAP

This week made up for last week's slightly smaller crowd with an impressive turnout of 20 teams. These teams brought their A-game both in terms of trivia knowledge and enthusiasm. A special shoutout to the team Turbo Thots for cheering at almost everything throughout the night and really pumping up the atmosphere. Apparently that enthusiasm worked for them on a trivia level as well because the Turbo Thots got 3rd place this week. In second place we had Counter Intelligence, the team who has been in first place the last 2 weeks, and in first place this week was Cool Story Brew.

I did happen to notice an interesting correlation between the winners: the third place team had no dogs with them, the second place team had one dog with them, and the first place team had 2 dogs with them. In other words, I think the secret to trivia success is to bring your furry friends along! Even if it doesn't help you win, it will at least make me the Quizmaster happy! I hope for equal energy next week and even more dogs!

QUIZ RECAP

It was a less busy night than usual at Brouwerij West this week, perhaps because people have already done so much drinking this week as a part of the Memorial Day holiday weekend. One way or another the teams who did come out managed to not only keep up the drinking but also rack up some impressive scores in trivia. I was impressed by how dedicated each and every team was this week and enjoyed hearing the grumbling and spirited complaints when teams didn't know answers (mwahaha).

The winner this week for the second week in a row was Counter Intelligence who took the lead in Round 6 with an impressive double or nothing. In second place we had the BJ's who took an early lead, but lost first just before the end. In third place this week was the Mild Stallions, a frequent Brouwerij West victor. In general teams struggled with Round 7, which was about this last year's oscars, so I have to mention that Uncomfortably Dumb knocked it out of the park in Round 7 with a successful double or nothing that resulted in a rise from last place to 5th! All in all, the turnout this week may have been small, but these teams were mighty and filled the bar up with their brilliance!
