QUIZ RECAP

So you think January is a boring, ho hum kind of month? Well, last night Bank of Venice was positively ROLLICKING, with 4 fierce teams and a whole lotta drama.

B of V veterans LORDZ n QUEENZ showed up with serious game face, determined to preserve their coveted 1st place slot from last week. With a successful double down in the very first round, it looked like they just might pull it off. That is, until GUEST TEAM swooped in, decided they'd suffered enough jokes about wearing out their welcome, and got IN on that double down action in round 2. In the end, GUEST TEAM took over the whole dang house with a 1st place win and a comfy 14 point lead over their house LORDZ. Let's not forget our 3rd place winners, TRES DIABLOS, also with the cutest photo of the night! Just look at those perfect supermodel smiles (ONE TAKE wonders).

In closing, dear Trivians, remember this: everyone's a winner when we learn something new. Like "portmanteau" is not in fact a term used to describe what happens after a man dips his toe into sweet wine. Also, "man chair" is a thing. (Please consult LORDZ & QUEENZ for further details).

QUIZ RECAP

2019 has started with a bang, Bank of Venice was hoppin' last night. We had seven teams duke it out with close scores all night, there were a few upsets so it was anybody's game clear through the 7th round. Everybody seemed to feel this quiz was tough, from the names of the celebrity marriages to the FIFA stars. It was a VERY vocal crowd 😉 LORDZ & QWEENZ took the night by one point, despite RBG getting all 10 right in round 7 but not doubling! Oh, the heartbreak! CHOW CHOW MEOW tied with VODKA COCKATOO for 3rd place and Elliot at BofV graciously let us award them both 3rd place certificates for $10. This week's drinking round was "Guess Our Bartender's New Year's Resolution" and VODKA COCKATOO nabbed that as well. Turns out Elliot is more inclined to "start a business" this year than "marry a rich woman and live the good life", as another team guessed. (He's also not planning a "penile reduction" in 2019 - nice try CHOW CHOW MEOW 😉

Shout out to our "prettiest" team this week, TEAM GLADIATORS! You did great for a 2 person team, we hope you'll be back. Happy New Year everyone, see y'all next week!

QUIZ RECAP

In the true spirit of Christmas, Bank of Venice let us have 3 prizes instead of the usual 2. Since there were only 3 teams, EVERYBODY GOT A PRESENT! YAY! (You're all pretty this week kidz 😉 Everyone was too scared to double, SHINY PEOPLE are not down with the "many names of Santa. There's only one @#$%ing Santa!" Needless to say, that round lost them some ground and they finished second. HINGE DRINKERS got a lot better as they went along, they certainly finished stronger than they started. They can look forward to a bright trivia future! LORDS & QWEENZ altered their name to the infinitely better (and more accurate in my opinion) A QWEEN AND HER LORDZ. She led her reindeer to first place and $20 bucks! Shout out to Eliot the bartender for his winning disposition, he took care of everyone by himself all night and is definitely NOT on the naughty list.

Next Tuesday is Christmas Day meowers, so we'll see you in 2 weeks, New Year's Day January 1st. Let's get 2019 going with some random knowledge!
