ABOUT US

At Bank of Venice, you are dining in a 1905 landmark. Venice founder, Mr. Abbot Kinney, designed the building after the famous Saint Mark’s Square in Venice, Italy. For years, the pacific railcar dropped beach-goers just outside these doors to enjoy the sun, sand, waves— all that Venice has to offer.

Now, over a century later, we’ve memorialized this icon of Venice lifestyle in the form of a bar & grill, where all are welcome to drink bespoke cocktails, craft beer and California wine, while indulging in locally-sourced cuisine. So sit back, enjoy and don’t panic. It’s organic!

Last night's quiz was so fun! We're starting a bit earlier at 7:30p, and the "date night" crowd perked up a little interest as we started. Bof V seems to attract it's share of foreign tourists, FIONA & MAXINE were French and did just fine considering the language gap - they got to be this week's "prettiest team" ;-). Competition was neck and neck all night, LORDZ & QWEENZ were at a disadvantage until the rest of their ringers showed up...ultimately they got squeezed out of second by ONE POINT! Aarrrrgh Charlie Brown! FINS WITH RAKES had a slow start but pulled off a dramatic 6th round double down, nosing into second and they held on to it. But most exciting was CC+C, aka CinC (last week's "prettiest" team) coming back for blood. They brought some well chosen help and took an early lead by doubling, though they did have an almost disastrous double later and a wrong early answer in the "Guess Who" round. They ended up in first place so their egos were assuaged, but they seemed more excited about winning the drinking round. The first Thanksgiving was in 1621 my fellow Americans...go go have a great one!

Every thing was boistrous at the Bof V last night! House defenders LORDZ & QWEENZ had an early disastrous double down, which left them chasing 2nd place all night. Eventually 2nd went to TOO RAINY FOR P.O.T.U.S., who has a new name weekly and it's always hilarious. L&Q did win the drinking round though, good job knowing the 4 main ingredients in beer ... YEAST miladies, YEAST! Newcomers FLAT STAN LEE (too soon? never too soon! ) shut everybody out with 3 successful double downs. Sheesh. They should be running the government. Still, big shout out to C in C, you cuties from Canada gave it the old college try... "you're the prettiest team!" See you geniuses next week 😉

It was practically Olympic at Bank of Venice last night, we had competing teams from Canada, Germany and the good old USofA. Even though it was election day, none of our competitors could recite the Preamble to the Constitution to secure the drinking round, so the TWEEDLE DUM DUMS won it with their knowledge of Abraham Lincoln & his love of cats! The Tweedles also took first place with a successful last round double, staving off some heat from the BALLOT STUFFERZ. Those geniuses will be back, they took home the second place gift certificate. Happy travels to our foreign exchange students ELENA & STEPHAN, they're back to the motherland tomorrow. Hopefully there's King Trivia in Germany 😉
