QUIZ RECAP

On this silly night of trivia, we found out what happens when the Quizmaster discovers that he is becoming ill. Though your humble ringleader deteriorated to the point of misfiring on all cylinders, noble trivia combatants lost none of their mettle. Teams from Tam trivia eras old and new were present and accounted for to sally forth into the fray that is the beginning of tournament play. Even in the face of mortal danger (a Dave Matthews Band themed drinking round), it was a night victorious for those steady representatives of the old guard - Aggressive Foreplay.

As we fully embrace the rejuvenation of Spring, an annual trivial tradition is for your humble Quizmaster to produce a Coachella-based Drinking Round, wherein teams attempt to identify the actual musical acts appearing at this year's festival while rejecting the bands that I made up. And for the second year in a row, The Mules were victorious!  Attateam, Mules!

Also, this night marked the beginning of a new tradition. Instead of having "You're the Best Around" from Karate Kid be the traditional aural treat for victorious teams (while serving as motivation to teams to do better the next time that they might hear the song played in honor of their glorious achievements), trivial combatants are now invited to make one choice of song that shall be their specific victory music, that they might personally bask in their triumph while other teams listen in despair.

And so tonight it was to the sweet, sweet sax of "Careless Whisper" that Aggressive Foreplay did reach their climax.

As the hills grow green with the wet kiss of spring upon the land, your Quizmaster's thoughts are often moved to The Shire of Tolkien's creation. Such escapist reveries led to the creation of the night's Drinking Round, wherein the Flux Capacitors proved their worth as a fellowship, naming more characters from the Lord of the Rings trilogy than any other challengers in the land. And with that information delivered, I shall diminish, and pass into the West.
