What can I say about my final Brouwerij Wednesday? (Other than that I wish I'd come up with that wordplay sooner.) Once you get down to it, a game is a game -- and isn't that why we were all there in the first place?

In the end of the end, it was The Test Tickles who escaped earth's atmosphere with a scorching 94 total points! Sure, they scored a Round 2 double, but they followed it up with 20-point doubles in Rounds 5, 6 and 7. Second then went to Counter Intelligence with 62 points! They scored that Round 6 double as well, as well as a near-perfect Round 5. In third came Brewsual Suspects at 60 points, scoring a perfect Round 7, a near-perfect Round 6, and a sucessfully doubled 20-point Round 5. Well done, all teams!

Above, you'll find pictures of many dear teams, as well as several who requested my presence in the snapshot. My heart is absolutely brimming with gratitude and affection to all you faithful, funny, and kind trivians. Treat your next host with equal kindness and I'll be warmed by the knowledge that Brouwerij West remains the absolute best place to play. (And who knows? Perhaps I'll drop by for a visit on Wednesdays Yet To Come.)

A tie for first marked the end of a competitive game this week at Brouwerij West! Several teams duked it out and wound up close to placing, but only three could go home with a prize!

In the end, it was Counter Intelligence who went home with the biggest win after our 58-point tiebreaker question! When trying to guess how many steps led up inside the Eiffel Tower, one team member was able to use real-world experience to get darn close. They narrowly beat Brewsual Suspects, whose nearly identical scores included a 20-point Round 6 double. Third went to newcomers 99 Problems but a Beer ain't 1 at 52 points! They scored that Round 6 double as well, bringing them right into prize territory. Well done, all teams!

Sub - Quizmaster Jim Mc (and helper Kathy) reported for duty! I've had the pleasure to sub 3 times at Brouwerij West and have always been impressed by the staff as well as the competitive nature of the teams! You can see how the staff has welcomed in King Trivia and how the teams reciprocate by their regular attendance, patronage of the brewery and food truck. But don't that fool ya, as the teams come to play and play to win - onward:

The Test Tickles started the night with a perfect Round 1 and never gave up their lead (spoiler alert - oops, too late). But the questions were tough tonight and kept most teams away from doubling, so everyone stayed bunched up in the leaderboard! Mike Hunt (haha) came late and didn't start until Round 3, or they might have had a shot too! Alpaca Punch kept pace until a wrong answer in "Guess Who" knocked them out. Who knew Al Pacino was a homeless, failed actor who wanted to play baseball before hit caught his big break from Coppola (and the "mafia triology") - well, The Brewsual Suspects did and that answer in Round 4 firmly entrenched them in 2nd place, where'd finish the evening - ooh, spoiler alert - too late.

Questions must have gotten easier in Rounds 6 & 7, as we saw The Snowflakes & Team Kavanova surge into a dogfight for 3rd place, with Counter Intelligence & Uncomfortably Dumb right behind. In the end (see what I did there), The Snowflakes had a successful final round double and stood alone in 3rd, while The Test Tickles beat The Brewsual Suspects for the top prize.

Fun times had by all - even the teams that didn't get mentioned but smiled every time they brought up their answers and laughed off the difficulty of the subject matter - tough NOT to enjoy yourself when hanging at Brouwerij West! Til next time...
