QUIZ RECAP

Another rainy Wednesday, but we still had a small town's worth of trivians at Brouwerij West! Hope you had your biweekly hot dogs at the ready, because it was a tough one this week.

In the end, it was The Brewsual Suspects who earned the top spot with a big 62 points! They scooped up a tasty 20-point double in Round 6 to secure that lead. Next was Counter Intelligence with 52 points, narrowly beating The Test Tickles at 51 points. Both teams grabbed Round 2 doubles and then scored highly through the rest of the game. Well done, all teams!

We've got rain forecast for next Wednesday as well. Maybe it's a Brouwerij winter tradition? Everyone celebrates the holidays differently.

QUIZ RECAP

The looming full-moon rain couldn't keep the Thanksgiving spirit from pervading our enormous trivia crowd this week! Even upon entering the brewery, I could tell from the packed house that it was going to be a long, fun night. And so it was!

In the end, it was Cool Princess 500 who went home with the gold at 71 total points! They scored high throughout the game, including two well-placed doubles in Rounds 2 and 5. Next up was newcomers Nathan Explosion with a very close 70 points! Their two points in Round 1 were balanced out by those same doubles in Rounds 2 and 5, along with an impressive 10-point guess in Round 4. Third went to Brewsual Suspects with 66 points! They bounced back from an unsuccessful Round 5 double with that coveted 20-point Round 6 double. Well done, all teams!

Let's talk about me: this was my maiden voyage as a Quizmaster and thanks to the help of Robert @ Brouwerij (pronounced Brewery, go figure!) West and a very supportive crowd, we got through it and had a blast! But it's really about all the Trivia Teams, who were out en masse and ready win!

Mocha Mix started strong with a successful 1st round double and stayed strong throughout the night. Then, Brouwerij's regular trivia buffs: Brewsual Suspects, Test Tickles and Here for the Beer got warmed up with huge 2nd round performances. Yet, other teams hung tough, scoring strong in rounds 3-5, including Trident Layers, Team Kavanova, Frosted Flakey Friends, Daughters of Triton & Team Kavanova. A surprisingly easy Round 6 Sports question had 12 teams get all questions right, but 10 of these teams doubled, so the scores really shot up. In the end, The Brewsual Suspects put the game away with a win in Round 7 and a total of 71 points, besting Trident Layers and Mocha Mix. The latter 2 teams tied for 2nd and had to "Quiz Off" - who knew a pumpkin could grow to over a TON (well, Trident did, as they took 2nd place)! Looks like I'll be back at Brouwerij in a couple of weeks, so thanks for making me feel welcome during my maiden voyage! Cheers to Colleen's return next week...
