About Rasselbock Kitchen & Beer Garden

We are striving to bring the best in fresh & authentic German cuisine to Long Beach. Our menu includes various versions of schnitzel, sausages, Bavarian pretzels and of course our famous apple strudel.

It also includes multiple vegetarian & vegan options and kid-friendly dishes.

Rasselbock, Kitchen & Beer Garden is located in Bixby Knolls, a beautiful neighborhood just 10 min from Downtown Long Beach.

We have a parking lot with over 40 spots behind the restaurant and free parking on Atlantic Ave for 2h. Rasselbock is a German restaurant and pub specializing in German food with a modern twist and freshly tapped German and Belgian beers since we opened in 2016. Featuring over 35 German and Belgian beers, homemade sangrias and a great selection of German and Californian Wines.

A tough set of questions made for the first double-free game in recent memory, leaving overall scores depressed (but not spirits!) across the board. Leaderless, Trivia Amigos, and Taco Cat jumped ahead early in the game, but it was Dim Bulbs' slow and steady approach that ended up claiming the victory at the end. After three teams guessed incorrectly on the Guess Who 10 point clue, Dim Bulbs was the only team to guess correctly after the 6-pointer, vaulting them into a tie of the lead. They'd took it outright in round 6 with a 9 point round, and they correctly named 7 of the top 10 selling car brands to hold onto their lead for the December 12th title. Taco Cat was 2 points back for 2nd place, and Leaderless squeaked out 3rd by one point over Wizard's Sleeve, to capture their fourth third place in a row.

Leaderless won the drinking round by exhibiting the best Santa Clause impression (after a Grinch tiebreaker), but graciously deferred to the second place team, Trivia Ta Tas.

A record 9 teams came to battle at Rasselbock this Wednesday, braving the light LA drizzle. It also yielded what was by far the most competitive game on record in the short history of Rasselbock Wednesday Night Trivia. Six teams were within 8 points of the lead going into the final round. Newcomers Dumpster Fire and mainstay Drink Coffee at the Merchant jumped out to an early lead with perfect doubled first rounds. Nerd Alert 69 joined them at the top with a perfect second round, and Earschplittenlaudenboomer doubled in round 3 to join the crowd at the top. Latvian Kings (aka many other names) catapulted from 6th to 1st with a perfect doubled round 6, only to be lapped again when Mike Tyson's Thspeech Thschool and Dumpster Fire showed off their Super Smash Bros knowledge and doubled in the final round to take the top two spots. Dumpster Fire came away with the victory with 65 points and Tyson's closely behind at 61. Latvian Kings narrowly hung on to complete their third third-place finish in a row (they're consistent).

The drinking round was equally competitive, with a tie between Dumpster Fire and Drink Coffee at the Merchant guessing the correct number of movies in the Air Bud cinematic universe (it's 13). Dumpster Fire won the tiebreaker, earning themselves a free flight of beer.

Some highly divergent early rounds led to a quick separation between teams, leading to an intense 3-team battle, while several others raised the white flag. Robert De Niro's Waiting (aka We Are Detectives, Careless Memory, Tiger Blood, and Worst Catholics) made an ill-fated double-or-nothing in the penultimate round, costing them the victory and leaving them in 3rd place. Conversely, Drink Coffee at the Merchant didn't double a perfect 6th round, and the prudence cost them first place by a point, finishing with 46, one short of the newcomer power duo Quid Pro Paleo.

Formedehyde Jones couldn't follow up on their impressive debut from last week, but did win themselves a free flight of beers in the drinking round.
