With the holiday season upon us, and Christmas just a few days away, we wound up the 2019 trivia season this week at The Backdoor Bakery Cafe with a warm and rousing edition of King Trivia.
Hodge Podge led the pack with an 84-point winning effort. The Troika and Or WHAT!? rounded out the winner's list with 65 and 64 points respectively. And OK Gen-Xers! won the drinking round.
But really, everyone comes away a winner after an evening of rivalry and revelry at the BDB. Deb and Reno - and this humble quizmaster - wish one and all merry and bright holiday season, and a happy new year.

I just realized why I love hosting trivia at the Backdoor Bakery Cafe so much. It's the aroma. Cookies, cakes, and other things baked. The air is filled with the glorious aromas of all good things that scream out "LOVE!"
Of course, that love takes a back seat to competitive intensity for two hours every Wednesday evening. And so it was last night at the BDB when Shaina Maidelas dominated the scoring and ran away with a 70-point win. Well done, Maidelas!

We were fully immersed in the holiday season this week at The Back Door Bakery Cafe, with eight enthusiastic teams doing battle for trivia quiz glory.
Duck, Duck Goose survived the Thanksgiving holiday without getting roasted or carved, and easily won the drinking round with a perfect ten-for-ten performance identifying Disney films and music.
Team Grinch wasn't the least bit Grinchy, despite their team name, and The Caroling CornDogs delighted us with the mental image of - you know - a caroling corndog. Now that I think about it, though, the Corndog Crew didn't sing us a single carol! Their team name is fake news!!
A tardy but sincere happy birthday to Debra! And we'll see ya next week.
