As the Dodgers took the Mets out for a nice game, our Trivia goers were not going to be left out in the cold. They flocked to Pineapple Hill for their weekly Seven Rounds of Trivia Glory, and suffice it to say, they got what they came for!

Things started with a rather wide spread all over the score possibilities, with the Oxymorons returning after a hot summer and leading the pack. They continued to stay near the top the next three rounds, even as last week's champions Tequila Mockingbirds fell victim to some rather insidious traps, however patriotic they may be.

Round 4 had almost everyone feeling good with their guesses, while round 5 had a few teams blue in the face trying to figure out what the darn connection was. The point totals so far were close as to think it was anyone's game, but then out of left-field, "Mike Met a Stripper Named Tammy" landed the only successful double-down in round 6, nearly doubling their points and launching them into the lead.

Round 7 Tested Baseball Knowledge as teams desperate to salvage their chances risked it all for a chance to over come that proved fruitless as the leaders prevailed led by "Mike Met a Stripper Named Tammy".

A fun little night here at the Pineapple Saloon! We had a blast in round 1 with General Knowledge, always ordering everyone around, even the turtles.

Round 2 had a few laughs when we just didn't know enough Nancies, but round 3 Rocked! Chris rock, that is. Round 4 was a headscratcher for a while until we all realized that Neve Campbell was Canadian.

It was about this time we all realized that "Running with Caesars" and "Tequila Mockingbirds" and "There's always next week" had been neck and neck (and Neck)! We were pretty much all able to "name" the correct answers in round 5. TANW and the Mockingbirds succesfully double-downed, pulling farther afield, but what would happen next?Neither of them attempted the feat in Round 6, which left us unsure which mountains are which, and this time it was Caesar's turn to double. This made for an incredibly tense entrance into Round 7, which tested everyone's knowledge of NHL teams, so it was over....well, rather quickly... but not before Tequila Mockingbirds pulled away with the only successful double down in the final round-securing the Stainly Koep, a coveted trophy only awarded to the champions on the last trivia Tuesday in August of an even numbered year below a waning moon in a fruit-themed saloon. They celebrated raucously and well deserved, spreading their 99 points to the masses that poured into the streets to congratulate their heroes (pictured).

Game Rank Team # Team Name Score Teams Beaten Team Beat Average
1 10155 Tequila Mockingbirds 99 7 1.000
2 10474 Running With Ceasars 81 6 0.857

What a nice night at Pineapple Hill Saloon. 14 Teams ushered forth into the great known that is trivia.

There's Always Next Week threw down quite the gauntlet as the only debut Double-down, but that doesn't mean they were the only ones to try for it! Round 2 saw a bit more vigour and six teams ascended the throne for a showdown of Double-Downs, evening the field slightly. Moving into round 3, the confidence kept coming with half of the teams securing double-down and almost all the rest scoring five or six points.

A few in round 4 ventured forth to success right off the bat, but most waited until the second clue, securing a still high, if not highest point possibility.

As the fates began to tighten their threads, double-downs started to fly in the face of adversity, with last-ditch efforts of math resulting in many Zeroes in the final rounds of the game, leaving only three at the top:

Running With Caesars, The Kids' Table, and Gary's Old Towne Tavern in ascending order.
